Perfect Corp. Expands AI Skin Simulation Technology

 

Perfect Corp. is adding acne, oiliness, and radiance skin simulation technology to its augmented reality (AR)-powered skin simulation tool.

These advanced skin simulation features build upon an existing array of skin metrics that allow users to track enhancements in spots, dark circles, eye bags, pores, texture, wrinkles, and redness.

The acne simulation technology can detect and realistically remove pimples, blackheads & whiteheads via a precise AI visualization. The oiliness simulation technology can detect and realistically remove strong, medium, and light oiliness.

In addition to the AR-powered skin simulation tool, Perfect Corp.’s advanced AI Skin Analysis technology now allows users to detect their skin type in real time. With just one scan, users can gain insight into their unique skin type whether it’s dry, oily or combination. The real-time AR overlay visualizes this in live mode by showing users their T-zone and U-zone skin condition.

Verrica Pharmaceuticals Files Lawsuit Against Canadian Drug Manufacturer for False Advertising, Unfair Competition

Verrica Pharmaceuticals Inc. has filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Dormer Laboratories Inc., a Canada corporation requesting that the court enjoin Dormer Labs from marketing, selling, and distributing drugs containing cantharidin in the United States.

This lawsuit is part of Verrica’s commitment to patient safety by stopping the false and misleading advertising and sale of unapproved cantharidin-containing drugs within the United States.

It also requests compensatory, statutory and punitive damages for Dormer Labs’ violations of the federal Lanham Act and Pennsylvania law. 

Sanofi Implements New Benefit Program for Employees With Cancer

Sanofi’s new ‘Cancer & Work: Acting Together’ provides social, emotional and financial support and secures the job, salary and benefits of any employee for up to twelve months, no matter the role or geographical location, for all Sanofi employees in the world if they are diagnosed with cancer or critical illnesses.

 On top of financial support, employees will be able to incorporate further flexible work arrangements to better navigate cancer and work. Employees will have access to a network of volunteer colleagues trained to help them navigate from initial diagnosis through the treatment journey and return to work. Impacted employees have also access to an external psychological support in all countries 24/7 through the Employee Assistance Program. 

In addition, throughout 2024, Sanofi intends to implement coverage of miscellaneous non-medical expenses. Moreover, Sanofi permanent employees will become eligible for an unpaid caregiver leave which allows them to carry out caregiving duties for their close family member suffering from a critical illness. 

The program is also designed to better equip managers to support members of their team who are affected by cancer. It connects them with the knowledge they will need to take that first step in helping a colleague navigate their local benefit and support programs.
